The Diocese of Motherwell has a
long history of supporting pupils, parents, teachers
and priests in the field of education.
Details of staff engaged in educational links with schools and local authorities can be found in the Office section of this web site.
In 2003 the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES)
was established to provide a national focus for Catholic
education. Diocesan staff liaise regularly with
staff at SCES from whom full details of Catholic education
in Scotland can be obtained from: www.sces.uk.com
Religious Education is an important
part of the curriculum in every school in Scotland.
In Catholic schools it is even more so since a main
function of the school is to assist parents and local
parish communities to develop their children's faith. A very
important aspect of this is the learning and educational
experiences they will enjoy in Religious Education.
The Diocese supports teaching staff in Catholic schools and the wider Catholic community through the work of the Religious Education Advisors.
