This section will allow both parents and teachers to access information regarding the thirteen secondary schools within the Diocese of Motherwell.

All schools have a Chaplain appointed by the Bishop.

Religious Education is a central element of the curriculum in diocesan schools. To assist in its management, each school has a Principal Teacher or Coordinator of Religious Education. To find out more about how Religious Education is managed at a diocesan level (including responsibilities of teachers and parents) you can view the document "Guidelines for Catholic Secondaries" below.

The Religious Education curriculum for years 1-4 in Catholic Secondaries is provided by the Catholic Education Commission for Scotland.  At years 5-6 there is no national statement of content.  There is, however, a diocesan Draft Programme currently being implemented in schools throughout the diocese.  This covers issues of Faith, Hope and Love in today's world.

Further details relating to Religious Education nationally can be found at: www.sces.uk.com/Religious_Education
