This section
will allow both parents and teachers to access information regarding the thirteen secondary schools within the Diocese of Motherwell.
All schools have a Chaplain appointed by the Bishop.
Religious Education is a central element of the curriculum in diocesan schools. To assist in its management, each school has a
Principal Teacher or Coordinator of Religious Education.
To find out more about how Religious Education is managed
at a diocesan level (including responsibilities of teachers and parents) you can view the document "Guidelines
for Catholic Secondaries" below.
The Religious Education curriculum for years 1-4 in Catholic Secondaries is provided by the Catholic Education Commission for Scotland. At years 5-6 there is no national statement of content. There is, however, a diocesan Draft Programme currently being implemented in schools throughout the diocese. This covers issues of Faith, Hope and Love in today's world.
