Pilgrimage to World Meeting of Families in Dublin

Bishop Toal and Fr Michael Kane will be leading a pilgrimage from Motherwell Diocese to the World Meeting of Families being held in Dublin, Ireland. Pope Francis will be attending this event and pilgrims will have the opportunity to attend all the major events led by the Holy Father. Monsignor Millar 40th Anniversary

On Friday Friday 20th April, Monsignor Thomas Millar, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, East Kilbride, celebrated a special Mass of Thanksgiving to mark his 40th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. Watch highlights of the Mass here.

Easter Passion Scene

Primary 6 at St Brendan’s Primary have worked hard to design and create their very own Passion Scene. We have thought carefully about the symbolism we have used and are using our scene to teach the other boys and girls about the Passion. The Castle The castle represents the place where Pontius Pilate lived. Inside the castle, you will see the block of wood where Jesus was whipped. We also made a cloak which can be seen inside the castle too. This represents the cloak placed on Jesus and represents his title King of the Jews. Months Mind Mass for Canon T. Brosnan

A Months Mind Mass for the late Canon Timothy Brosnan will be celebrated in St Gerard's Church, Bellshill, on Friday 13th April 2018 at 7pm. Bishop Toal will be principal celebrant at this Mass. All are invited to attend. Canon Brosnan was ordained in 1957 and served for 54 years in the Diocese until his retirement in 2011. Canon served in St Mungo's Garthamlock (1957-1960), St Margaret's Airdrie (1960-1971), Sacred Heart Bellshill (1971-1976), St Aloysius' Chapelhall (1976-1981), St Benedict's Easterhouse (1981-1984) and St Gerard's Bellshill (1984-2011).

Rosary on the Coast

This is a day of Pilgrimage and Prayer for the re-flourishing of our Faith, for the grace to build a culture of Life and for true Peace to reign in the hearts of all peoples & Nations. Recently the faithful of Poland and Ireland have responded to what they sense as a movement of the Holy Spirit to gather around the coasts of their nations and pray to Jesus, the Divine Mercy, for a renewal of faith and respect for human life through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary. Having witnessed this, a number of the lay faithful in the British Isles - England, Scotland, Wales and their Isles - have felt the same inspiration and urge to respond.
