Admission to Candidacy

Please pray for Alan Brown and David Harper who will both be admitted as candidates for Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop Toal this Saturday, 2nd February. **Please note this Mass will now take place in Holy Family Mossend due to a Funeral taking place in the Cathedral.

Recently, Bishop Toal visited Ethiopia with SCIAF to see the projects and work carried out by the charity. Bishop Toal has written the following reflection on his visit: As I return from Ethiopia having spent a week visiting projects which SCIAF supports in Northern Ethiopia, I record some thoughts on what has been a fascinating few days. Bishop Toal has announced the following clergy appointments: Father Michael Brown to become Parish Priest of Holy Family, Mossend from 1st February, succeeding Father James Grant who becomes General Secretary of the Bishops' Conference of Scotland. Father Owen Ness to become Administrator of St Brendan's, Motherwell from 1st February Deacon Jim Aitken to become Chancellor of the Diocese of Motherwell from 21st January Father Gerard Bogan is appointed Dean of the Motherwell & Central Deanery. Father Kevin McGoldrick is appointed Vice Dean of the Motherwell & Central Deanery.
