General Election 2019 

In a pastoral letter which will be read at all 500 Catholic churches in Scotland this weekend (23/24 November) Scotland's Catholic Bishops, will urge parishioners to participate in the 2019 General Election and to “elect an individual representative who reflects as closely as possible our beliefs”. Supporting Catholic Education

On Tuesday 26th November around 5pm the Scottish Parliament will host a debate on the positive contribution of Catholic Schools in Scotland. The briefing, below, has been sent to every MSP in advance of the debate, which will be led by Elaine Smith MSP. Please contact your MSP and encourage them to attend. Bishops' Conference Meeting

The Bishops’ Conference held their November meeting at Schoenstatt retreat centre from 4 to 6 November. All eight of Scotland’s bishops attended. The meeting was chaired by Bishop Hugh Gilbert, President of the Conference. The bishops received reports from a number of agency Directors and National Commission members and discussed a range of issues of interest to the church. Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) Director, Barbara Coupar reported on the recent work of SCES.
