The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has today announced the appointment of a new Papal Nuncio to the UK. Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, has been appointed as the Pope's official representative to the UK, succeeding Archbishop Edward Adams who retired in January.
Archbishop Gugerotti was born in Italy in 1995 and was ordained in 1982 for the Diocese of Verona.
He has previously served as Papal Nuncio to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan (2001-2011), Belarus (2011-2015) and Ukraine (2015-2020).
