Mission Month

To mark the start of Mission Month, Missio Scotland have shared some interesting articles about missionary projects across the country. Every year in October, the Church focuses on Mission and celebrates Mission Sunday when traditionally collections are taken up to support the work of Missio.

First up is a story in which both Archbishop Protase Rugambwa of Tanzania—the Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples—and Pope Francis emphasise the importance of our missionaries and the need to show God’s love to all in the midst of this pandemic and how prayer, reflection and our material help are ways in which we can participate actively in the mission of Jesus and His Church: https://www.missioscotland.com/single-post/we-have-to-make-mission-count Secondly is a feature about one of our two supported projects in Peru this year, a feeding programme for disabled children https://www.missioscotland.com/single-post/feeding-his-sheep-in-peru Thirdly is a feature about our second supported project in Peru, the construction of a new parish house in the rural Llusco area: https://www.missioscotland.com/single-post/parish-house-will-embolden-evangelisation And lastly, but by no means leastly, a feature about Fr Pat Hennessy of St Columbkille's in Rutherglen, detailing his time spent in the country and his link with the man charged with overseeing the projects, Bishop Pedro Bustamante: https://www.missioscotland.com/single-post/padre-patricio-inspires-a-passion-for-mission
