You are all invited to Our Lady of Good Aid Carhedral this Afternoon, Sunday 14th December, and on Monday evening, 15th December, to celebrate the Dedication of the Cathrdral and the 150th Anniversary of the Parish. On Sunday Afternoon there will be Solemn Sung Vespers with the Cathedral Choir at 5pm and on Monday we will celebrate Mass for the Dedication of the Cathedral at 7pm, in Thanksgiving also for the 150 years of Our Lady of Good Aid Parish. In doing so I offer some words written recently by Our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. “The Church is our spiritual home; as such every parish and pastoral activity is meant to be a space in which we glorify God and care for others, especially children and the vulnerable. In this regard I renew my appeal that there can be no tolerance for any form of abuse in the Church.

Dear brothers and sisters, I hope this finds you well. At the Plenary Meeting of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, held this week at the Conforti Centre in Coatbridge, the Bishops decided that, on completing his second three year term as General Secretary, Rev Fr Dr Gerard Maguiness, be released to return to Motherwell Diocese. Along with the other bishops I acknowledge Fr Maguiness’ outstanding contribution to the work of the Scottish Bishops’ Conference over the last six
