Canon Denis Keane RIP



It is with deep regret that we have to advise of the death of Canon Denis Keane, a retired priest of the diocese who died yesterday in Clonakilty Community Hospital, Co Cork.

Canon Keane was born on 8th August 1923 and served as a priest in Motherwell Diocese for 48 years, from his ordination on 5th June 1949 to his retirement to Ireland in 1997. In this time he served in seven parishes, four as Assistant Priest and three as parish priest. He founded the parish of St Brendan's in Motherwell in 1965.

Bishop Toal will offer Holy Mass on Wednesday 1 April at 7.00pm for the repose of the soul of Canon Keane. Mass will be live streamed on the Diocesan Facebook page.
