We offer our congratulations and prayers to Canon Joseph Clements as he celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of his ordination to the Priesthood today.
Fr Clements was ordained 60 years ago today on 29th April 1962 in the College Chapel at Valladolid by Bishop Black of Paisley and served as Assistant Priest of St Francis Xavier’s in Carfin, St Aidan’s in Wishaw, St Bride’s in East Kilbride and Motherwell Cathedral. In 1987 he was appointment Parish Priest of St Thomas’ in Wishaw where he served until 1992 when he took up appointment next door at St Aidan's Wishaw for a second time. Father Clements served as Parish Priest of St Aidan's for over 20 years until his retirement in 2015 and continued to live in the parish until recently when he moved to Woodside Care Home. In 2011 Fr Clements was made a Canon of the Cathedral Chapter.
We thank Canon Clements for his faithful service to the Diocese of Motherwell over the last 60 years and offer our continued prayers on this special occasion.
