It is with regret that we have to advise you of the death earlier this morning in Monklands Hospital of Fr John Doherty, formerly parish priest at St Bartholomew Parish in Coatbridge. During his many years of service in the Diocese, Fr John worked in 12 parishes, in two of which, St Clare's in Easterhouse and St Bartholomew's in Coatbridge, as parish priest. Fr John retired a few years ago and was living in care housing in Coatbridge.
His sister, Mary, and her family, were with him when he passed away. To them we extend our prayers, sympathies and condolences.
The Funeral Arrangement for the late Father John Doherty are as follows:
+ His Mortal Remains will be received into Motherwell Cathedral on Sunday 15th December at 4.00 pm.
+ His Funeral Mass will take place in the Cathedral on Monday 16th December at 12.30 pm.
May his soul rest in the peace of the Lord.
