We offer congratulations and best wishes to Fr George Donaldson, who today celebrates the 60th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood 1961.
Fr George served in the Cathedral from 1961 to 1968 and in St Mary's Coatbridge from 1969 to 1972. However, with Licences in Philosophy and Sacred Theology, by far the greater part of his ministry was teaching in the various Scottish seminaries; St Peter's in Cardross, later in Newlands; in Chesters College; and finally at Scotus College, until his retiral in 2000.
After retiring, Fr George served as Assistant Priest in St Barthomew’s with Fr Hugh Kelly and Fr John Doherty. He remained there until 2011 when he moved when he into Summerlee House Care Home in Coatbridge, where he still resides.
