Holy Hour for Peace

This evening, Monday 23rd March at 7:00pm, the faithful are warmly invited to gather for a Holy Hour for Peace in Our World. This time of prayer and reflection will be organised by the Diocesan Justice and Peace Group in Motherwell, bringing together people from across the diocese to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for the needs of our troubled world.
In recent times we have witnessed war, division and suffering in many parts of the globe. As Christians, we are called not only to recognise these struggles but to place them before God in prayer. A Holy Hour offers a sacred space to pause, to listen to the voice of the Lord, and to intercede for those who long for reconciliation, healing and justice.
During this hour of Eucharistic adoration, scripture, silence and prayer will help us reflect on our shared responsibility to be instruments of peace. As Pope Leo XIV reminds us: “Only peaceful hearts can build a world of peace.” His words invite us to begin the work of peace within ourselves so that it may spread to our families, communities and nations.
All are welcome to join this Holy Hour as we pray for an end to conflict, for wisdom among world leaders, and for the grace to become peacemakers in our daily lives. Together, in faith and hope, we entrust our world to the Prince of Peace
