On Saturday 25th September, the Feast of St Pio of Pietrelcina, Bishop Toal ordained Rev. Stuart Dick to the Permanent Diaconate in St Vincent de Paul's East Kilbride.
Deacon Stuart, a parishioner of St Vincent's, has been preparing for the Diaconate for the past 5 years and carried out his placement in the parish of Our Lady and St Anne's Hamilton.
Deacon Stuart was joined by his wife Carol and son Jonathan as well as many family members, friends and parishioners for the special day.
Deacon Bill McMillan, the recently appointed Diocesan Director of the Diaconate, vested Rev Stuart with his stole and dalmatic. 15 Permanent Deacons from across Scotland joined Deacon Stuart for this ordination Mass.
We congratulate Deacon Stuart on his ordination and offer our prayers as he begins his ministry in the Diocese.
